KINDER KIDS I SEE COLORS BOOK: I See Blue

What Colors Do You See?  

We made our own book the first week of Kindergarten!

FUN!

DEAR READER,

During centers each team made a page for our classroom book of COLORS!

First we played I Spy With My Little Eye Something That Is Blue.

We found many blue things.

Together we shared the pen and wrote 

I see blue.

We counted each word.

I held the pen and showed where we would start to write on the page.

Word I
One child knew the word I so she held the pen and wrote I.

Finger Space - I used my finger to show where the first finger space would be.

Word see
We stretched out the word see and listened for the sounds we could hear. 

We heard 2 sounds /s/ and /e/.

One child knew how to make an s 

and another child wrote the ee.

Finger Space - this time another child used their finger for the finger space 

between words.

Word blue
We stretched out the word blue 

and heard the /b/ sound first.

This word was pretty tricky. 

We used that /b/ clue to find the 

word blue on the blue marker.

Another child copied the word blue.

Period(.)
We needed to end our sentence with a period.   

I showed where it would go and 

another child made the dot for the period.

Everyone in the center group helped write.
When a new group came to the center 
they wrote about another color. 
We put all our pages together to make our 
I See Colors Book

and it was so much 

FUN!

Each Sunny Daz Kid in the center drew 

a picture of something that was blue.

My Sunny Daz Kids LOVED This Book!

This book quickly became a classroom favorite!
You can start on day one.

Dear Reader,

Each SunnyDaz Kid got to pick 

their "best story" to put in our book.

As the year went along their writing improved!
They could trade a story when ever they wanted so they traded often.

The Story Book was exciting because they knew everyone would be reading it.
