GO GREEN GAME LOTS OF FUN!

WE WENT GREEN FOR EARTH DAY!
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
We reused plastic #Easter Eggs
for a #DIY rhyming game.
My Kinder #Kids had fun with
Green Eggs For Sam I Am!

Read Green Eggs And Ham.
Look for words that rhyme
and use some to make your own game.

Click the image above to purchase the book.

Dear Reader,
This game is easy to make.
I reused green plastic Easter Eggs.
I wrote two rhyming words
on the top of the egg and
two on the bottom.
I used rhyming words that
had the same spelling so
 my Kinder Kids could
use the letter pattern as a clue.

We "cracked" the eggs

(separated tops from bottoms)
and we had "scrambled eggs"
(mixed up eggs).
My Kinder Kids love scrambled eggs.

Each Kinder Kid in the center chose an egg.

They wrote all four rhyming words and
at least one extra rhyming word they thought up.
It could be a real word or a silly word.
Silly words are so fun to use when rhyming.
We wrote our rhyming words on recycled paper.

(Hint: I used a black Sharpie pen to write the words on the eggs.
I used a tissue and rubbing alcohol to "erase" any mistakes.
Then I let the ink dry over night.)

Try playing this at home or school.
Thanks for stopping by :)

1 #EASTER EGG-CELLENT IDEAS! Word Families Twist!

#1Easter Egg Extention
 Word Families Twist!

What to do with all those plastic Easter Eggs?
FINALLY!!!
I have been waiting and waiting to be able to share these EGG-cellent ideas.
I love these colorful eggs and Kinder Kids do too.
This is a fun way to practice word families.
Write beginning sounds on the left side of the egg.
Write a chunk like "at" on the right side of the egg.
The new word could be a real word or...
 For an extra hard practice
throw in a silly word like z-at.

You might want to try these
word families.
"at": c-at, f-at, h-at, m-at, r-at, ch-at, z-at
"en": d-en, h-en, m-en, p-en, t-en, wh-en, n-en
"ing": d-ing, k-ing, p-ing, s-ing, r-ing, th-ing, v-ing
"op": h-op, m-op, p-op, t-op, sh-op, y-op
"ug": b-ug, h-ug, j-ug, m-ug, r-ug sl-ug, f-ug
Have fun making up your own word families
for all your plastic colored eggs!
OR
Save some eggs for some of my other
Easter EGG-cellent Ideas.

Dear Reader,
Try some word families with your kids at home or school.
You might want to try my list of word families.
OR
Make up your own and share your word family in the comment box!

ALPHABLOCKS "at" WORDS

The Cat Sat On The Mat.

 This is a fun way to learn "at" words.
It makes blending sounds easy and fun.
Many Kinder Kids find it hard to blend sounds to read words but not so with Alphablocks.
My Kinder Kids were singing and blending and laughing as they read "at" words.
I am so excited I found this!
We love this video and song.
I hope you do too.
 :)
Enjoy!

Dear Reader Thanks for stopping by :)
Try singing this with your kids at home or school.
How do you teach your kids to blend?
Let me know.  I'd love to hear from you.
I'm wishing...
